Frequently asked questions
What is FillSmart?
FillSmart is a free iOS app for Australian drivers. It shows live petrol, diesel and LPG prices at service stations near you, finds nearby EV chargers, and plans road trips with the cheapest refuel or recharge stops along your route — tailored to your vehicle.
How do I find the cheapest fuel near me in Australia?
Open FillSmart and it shows live prices at stations around you, sorted by price or distance for the fuel your car uses. The cheapest option nearby is highlighted, and you can tap any station for details and directions.
Does FillSmart show EV charging stations?
Yes. Alongside petrol stations, FillSmart shows nearby EV charging locations with their connectors and kW, using Open Charge Map data. Save an EV to your garage and trips are planned around charging stops.
Which fuel types and states are supported?
Unleaded 91, Premium 95, Premium 98, Diesel and LPG, plus EV charging. Prices come from official government feeds including NSW FuelCheck, the Victorian Government (Service Victoria) and WA FuelWatch, with more states over time.
Is FillSmart free? Do I need an account?
FillSmart is completely free and needs no sign-up or login. Your vehicles and trips stay on your device. Only anonymous usage and crash data are collected to improve the app, and you can turn that off.
Where do the fuel prices come from?
From official and third-party sources: NSW FuelCheck, the Victorian Government (Service Victoria), WA FuelWatch, and Open Charge Map for EV chargers. Prices are indicative and Victorian prices can be up to 24 hours delayed, so always confirm at the station.
